There’s no doubt about it, Colorado is awe-inspiring in just about every detail when it comes to its natural beauty. But equally impressive is the A-list of actors, artists, athletes, musicians, and other prominent and noteworthy people that hail from the Mile High state.There may not be a direct correlation between the two, but we thought we’d throw out a few names to nibble on should you be investigating all wondrous things about the beautiful state of Colorado.
Tim Allen: Born in Denver and went on to star in Home Improvement and winner of a Golden Globe Award.Jesse Carmichael: Born in Boulder and keyboardist for rock group Maroon 5.Lon Chaney: Born in Colorado Springs and acted in many films during the 1910s and 1920s.Beth Chapman: Born in Denver and now resides in Hawaii with husband Dog, the Bounty Hunter.Jack Dempsey: Born in Manassa and regarded as boxing’s World Heavyweight Champion from 1919 1926.Matt Hasselbeck: Born in Boulder, selected three times to the Pro Bowl, and quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks.Ken Kesey: Born in La Junta and wrote One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.Karl Rove: Born in Denver and served as President George W. Bush’s Deputy Chief of Staff.Jack Swigert: Born in Denver and served as astronaut aboard Apollo 13 as well as being elected to Congress.Bobby Unser: Born in Colorado Springs and winner of the USAC Stock Car Championship is 1957.
There are more, of course, but the above sampling demonstrates the diversity of those who call Colorado their birth state ranging from actors to astronauts and musicians to athletes; almost as diverse as any Colorado landscape.
